POPular in POPtropica

Popular!

You’re gonna be popular!

You’ll hang with the right cohorts,

You’ll be good at sports,

Know the slang you’ve got to know!

So let’s start;

‘Cause you’ve got an awfully long way to go…

The only real way to be popular in Poptropica is by being in the social circle: this means friends. ;) This meaning that you need to go to extreme measures to add every single Poptropican that you can possibly see-

Okay, yes, I’m kidding. But for the sake of doing a song-post, let’s pretend that’s the idea, okay?

Don’t be offended by my frank analysis,

Think of it as personality dialysis!

(cue me shutting up and showing the picture)

So, Captain Crawfish has pretty much just said to all the Poptropicans; try to add us. But oh dear, where could we get their usernames?

Remember, if you want to add the Creators or any other interesting friends, check out the PHB’s Friend Finder. Not only can you find important friends, but you can also see the comments and discover other friends you might want to add. If you want people to add you, then leave a comment saying a little about your Poptropican and your username!

Laaaaa laaaa, laaa laaaa!

We’re gonna make you pop-u-lar!

So what do you think about having friends in Poptropica? Was it a good idea or a fail from the Creators? Comment with your opinion!

~Super Thunder

P.S.

You’ll be popular,

Just not quite as popular…

as ME!

Photos and Books

Of course Captain Crawfish decides to do a completely random post.  And it’s another one of his famous posts about one of his friends.  Yay.  :|   And to top it all off, his friend isn’t even me…

Photastic

I’d like to introduce you to a friend of mine, Lone Heart. Lone Heart has pulled off an incredible feat, earning all 109 photos in Poptropica! That’s amazing. And it must have taken a really long time.

How many photos have you earned in Poptropica? There are about four on every Island. Remember, if you’ve already played an Island before photos became available, you can restart it from your Island map and play it again to get photos.

Photos are just one small part of Poptropica Friends. We hope you’re enjoying all the great new features as much as we enjoyed creating them!

Oh, well.  I’ll get that many photos someday.  Eventually.

Anyway, the somewhat obvious reason for the second Wimpy Kid island has just been…revealed?  posted?  unveiled?  …I’ll get the right word eventually.

The third wheel legend

With the new Wimpy Boardwalk Island coming soon to Poptropica, this bit of news caught our eye: the cover for the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book!

As many of you know, Wimpy author Jeff Kinney is the original creator of Poptropica. His next book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel, comes out this November. We can’t wait to read it!

…posted?  No, no, that sounds stupid.  Magically shown to us?  No, that’s even worse…

Lights, Camera, REAction!

Oh, and apparently, Poptropica Friends is back! This means that I can go stalk Poptropicans’ profiles to see what the new fashions are… :D

Well, I’ve actually got better things to do that to stalk others. I can be redoing islands for all those pictures… *takes a look at Astro Knights*

*sigh*

That lava dragon… Well, I’ll have to defeat you someday, won’t I? (:< Why not now?

*grrrrrrrrrrrrr*

Um, okay, on second though, maybe not now, now… I can do it later. Once I get an ice suit to wear… And someone to hide behind.

We’re back up!

Just in time for the week to begin, all of the Poptropica Friends features are back up and running! Sorry about that, folks. We’ve got our team of trained monkeys working to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Well, I’m certainly happy that they’re back. I just wish I could take more than one quiz a day. And I wish I could delete costumes in my closet, ’cause I end up clicking too many times “save” and end up with like a thousand of one outfit. :/

Forever the Gold

The Bearators are, ah, bragging. I really don’t like them bragging. Even though, I do, um, happen to brag. A lot. It’s a Super Thunder characteristic. So is procrastination and inability to pay attention to math. Anyway, remember that Poptropica Friend thingy? Ya, well, the Bearators are trying to make us hyped up for this. So, they hit a lot of Poptropicans’ weak spots: completed islands.

Going for the gold

Playing through an Island on Poptropica gets you many rewards. Besides the satisfaction of a job well done, you’ll also earn a gold medallion that you can wear to show off your accomplishment. But how many of you have been able to pull thisoff?
Medallions for every Island! Whoa, nelly. That’s worth bragging about. Soon it’ll be easier to show off an achievement like this.
One of the great things about Poptropica Friends is that you’ll be able to see what medallions your friends have earned, and they’ll be able to see the same for you. You’ll even be able to show off how many times you’ve beaten each Island, by using Island Restart.
Poptropica Friends is launching soon. There’s no better time than the present to start adding to your medallion total, before all your friends can see!

Well, uh, Mr. Crawfish, I don’t mean to sound rude or anything (actually, I do), but that isn’t your account. You wish it was yours!

And a surprising amount of Poptropicans have finished all the islands, dude, I mean, sir. I am, like, one in a ten million thousand Poptropican POPulation that has.

I don’t look enough like Christine Daae. D: Maybe Brave Tomato (who also has finished all the islands) happens to have a better Christine costume. I just look like a wannabe ballerina in a white dress.

Brave Tomato: This is my Christine costume. Well, I’ve actually never watched the whole Phantom movie, but I saw a little in Chorus class when there is a substitute teacher. So here’s Small Fang (1313skull) sporting Christine Daae’s outfit!

Oh well, though. We can’t all be like Christine. Just don’t say that to Meg. Or leave her alone with potentially dangerous objects. *is so obsessed with Phantom of the Opera*

Okay, so now I’ll go work on a Meg Pop costume, and I’ll watch Love Never Dies (sequel) and then… *gaze lands on math homework* I’ll have to learn how to factor a stupid trinomial.

Who cares what x is? It’s not like they’re gonna ask me in life, “Hey what is the square root of 3583896732489634677342 times the factorization of 4328753208963280 in standard form to the fourth power, times a negative 16?” It’s just not gonna happen. And it better not be asked in Poptropica. *glares at Bearators*

YAY! The New Feature Has Been Announced So Now I Don’t Have To Wait Forever and Ever and Ever!

Edit: I was too excited when I wrote this post.  I messed some stuff up.  So there are a few edits below.  (I really need to learn to read a post and make sure I have it right before I publish it.  Sorry guys!)

Sorry the title’s so long.  I’m just really excited right now!

So, anyway, yesterday the Creators did a post that they were going to announce something new in Poptropica today.  Here’s the post so that you actually understand what I mean by that:

Edit: I put the wrong post here, so here’s the post that I meant to put here:

Stay tuned…

We’ve got some exciting news to share with all of our Poptropican Friends! Only… it’s not quite ready to show off yet.

So here’s the deal: check back in with the Poptropica Creators’ blog tomorrow for the big announcement. Until then, feel free to speculate!

So here’s the post that the Creators did today, announcing the new features:

(Edit ends here)

Announcing Poptropica Friends!

We’re thrilled to announce a new feature that’s coming soon to Poptropica: Friends!

Soon you’ll be able to make friends with the people you meet in Poptropica! You can follow their adventures in the game, and show off your own accomplishments. You’ll create a unique personality profile to share with the world. When you play through Islands, you’ll earn photos that mark your achievements in the game. Members will have access to a costume closet that lets you store as many as 30 individual costumes!

You’ll find all this and more with Poptropica friends. Keep an eye out here for more information, including when you can start using these new features!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

Oh my goodness, I’m going to probably have like a thousand friends!  You know, it would be really embarrassing if I said that and then I ended up with only one or two friends.  And that’s even more embarrassing now that I think about it, cause that’s probably what’s going to happen.  Sorry, I know I’m probably not making any sense right now.  That’s what being excited does to me.

There’s only one thing I don’t like about this.  That’s that the Costume Closet will only be for members.  And I know this sounds crazy, but that actually makes me want to get membership now.  Even more than having early release for islands.  Crazy, right?

Second Edit: I realized that I’ll still have to wait forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever to find out when we can use the new features and to actually begin using them.

Third and Last Edit: Just want to say sorry for messing the post up.  I know I probably seem stupid right now.  Like I said, I need to learn to actually read a post before I publish it.  Sorry, peeps!

Edit: Okay, so I lied.  The edit before this one wasn’t the last edit, after all.  But, this is really important.  So, in the comments, stupidninjas pointed out two things to me.  The first thing is that, in the part of the video where the person is typing in a friend’s username, the username is “MonsterCarnival2012″.  Here’s a picture, I circled the username in red:

The second thing that stupidninjas pointed out was that maybe the username is a hint that Monster Carnival Island is going to be released this year!  That would be so awesome if that’s true!  After years and years and years of waiting it finally comes out!  YAY!  Okay, don’t get your hopes up like I just did, because it might just be a coincidence.  But, still, it might not be a coincidence.  You never know!  Oh, and thanks for pointing that out, stupidninjas!
